Large-Format Printing for Hoardings, Displays and Backdrops

Large-format printing covers anything too big for a standard office or digital press: posters, hoarding panels, exhibition graphics, mounted boards and backdrops. At these sizes, small problems in artwork become obvious, so file preparation matters as much as the print itself.

Tell us the finished size, where the print will be seen and how close people will stand to it. That tells us what resolution your artwork needs, which material makes sense, and whether it should be mounted, laminated or left flexible for hanging.

Typical applications

  • Construction and fit-out hoardings

Branded panels that hide works in progress and announce what's coming, often in malls and retail streets.

  • Exhibition and conference graphics

Mounted panels, wall graphics and backdrop prints for booths, stages and registration areas.

  • In-store posters and displays

Campaign visuals for walls, light boxes and freestanding frames inside shops and showrooms.

  • Office and interior feature prints

Large photographic or illustrated prints that bring brand character to lobbies, corridors and meeting rooms.

Questions

What resolution does my artwork need for a large print?

It depends on viewing distance. A poster viewed up close needs more detail than a hoarding seen from across a road. Send your file and the finished size and we'll check whether it will hold up.

Can a print be bigger than the printer width?

Yes, very large graphics are usually printed in panels and joined. We'll plan the panel layout so joins are as discreet as possible.

Should I choose a matt or gloss finish?

Matt reduces reflections, which helps under spotlights or near windows. Gloss can make colours look richer. We can talk through which suits your space.
